The United States has planned to withdraw about 800 military personnel from Romania, and it is also planning to reduce its contingent in Bulgaria, Slovakia and Hungary. This is reported by the Romanian portal G4Media, citing government sources, writes European Pravda. According to sources, the announcement of the withdrawal of 800 US troops from Romania was made on October 27 through official NATO procedures. This is a White House decision, so it takes effect immediately, but theoretically Congress can still change it. The US military is stationed in Romania at the Mihail Kogalniceanu, Deveselu and Campia Turzii bases. The interlocutors believe that the US decision is not related to the cancellation of the results of the first round of the presidential election, which was won by the odious far-right candidate, since the US military is planning to withdraw from Hungary. The Romanian outlet, claiming that the decision concerns four countries, does not specify details regarding the time frame, volume and other details of the withdrawal of troops from other countries and focuses only on the contingent stationed in Romania.
