Doina Gherman and Vlad Batrincea Elected as Deputy Speakers of Parliament

The decision on the election was made today, October 30. The parliamentary opposition initially requested at least three deputy speaker positions, one for the parliamentary majority and two for other factions, deschide.md reports. However, PAS representatives pushed for appointing only two vice-speakers. Doina Gherman was elected vice-chair of Parliament. The proposal was supported by 53 votes. Vlad Batrincea was elected vice-chair of Parliament by 71 votes. At the plenary session, Our Party, led by Renato Usatii, nominated Elena Gritco for the position of deputy speaker, but her candidacy received only 23 votes.
