Moldovan Army Received Scorpion Self-Propelled Mortars

The Ministry of Defense stated that this is part of the ongoing modernization of the army, and that the new batch of military equipment is arriving after the country received several Atmos artillery systems. The Ministry of Defense did not provide details about the new delivery, but published video footage suggests that there may be about 20 Scorpion systems. The footage shows the equipment lined up on the parade ground of a military unit and then in action at a firing range, according to Europa Libera. Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatii wrote on social media that the authorities are continuing their efforts to modernize the National Army: “We are gradually transitioning from old artillery systems to modern ones. New equipment means efficiency, accuracy, mobility and, above all, the safety of all personnel,” the minister emphasized.
