Home / Politics / Government Is Creating a New Position of Deputy Director of the Customs Service
The Customs Service may have a third deputy director, according to a draft government resolution developed by the Ministry of Finance.
The project aims to adapt the management structure “to the increased volume of activity and increasingly complex responsibilities of the institution,” reports rupor.md, citing bani.md.
“The growth in the volume of activities of the Customs Service, the diversification of its functions, the strengthening of its role in the economic security of the state, and the intensification of international cooperation dictate the need to strengthen the management team by introducing the position of third deputy director,” the information note states.
The authors of the project argue that the current management structure no longer allows for optimal coordination of all strategic areas.
“These strategic directions require expanded, specialized and effective management coordination, which cannot be optimally implemented within the framework of the current leadership, consisting of only two deputy directors,” the document reads.
The Customs Service is currently headed by Radu Vrabie. Since 1 December 2025, the positions of deputy directors have been held by Carolina Gargaun and Viorel Doaga.
