This statement was made by Albanian President Bajram Begaj at a joint press conference with President Maia Sandu. “Congratulations on Moldova’s presidency of the Council of Europe until May. Albania appreciates the Republic of Moldova’s constructive position in supporting Kosovo’s aspiration to become a member of the Council of Europe. We also appreciate Moldova’s contribution to ensuring Albania’s security, including the deployment of troops in Kosovo. We hope that you will reconsider the issue of recognizing Kosovo’s independence. Albania congratulates the Republic of Moldova on its commitment to democratic values,” said Begaj, who is on a three-day visit to Chisinau, according to deschide.md.
