Armin Papperger argued that Russia is not interested in ceasing the hostilities, so Ukraine needs support, and the German defense company is ready to provide it with equipment. “We can help in many areas. At the moment, we are producing more ammunition than is stipulated in our contracts with Ukraine,” Papperger said in an interview with the Berlin-based media platform Table Media. According to him, Rheinmetall could supply Ukraine with more air defense systems, ammunition, drones, and even tanks. However, he added that funding for production for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is still not secured in “some areas”, as reported by dw.com. According to a report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the 100 largest defense companies in the world increased their revenue from arms sales and military services by 5.9% to 572 billion euros in 2024. This was due, in part, to Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine. German arms manufacturers increased their revenue by 36%.
