The public association, headed by former Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, will support the government in implementing the Reform and Growth Mechanism for the Republic of Moldova. The relevant memorandum of cooperation has already been signed, according to the State Chancellery. The memorandum was signed by Alexei Buzu, Secretary General of the Government, and Natalia Gavrilita, Director of the Partnership for the New Economy public association. According to the official announcement, as part of the cooperation, the association led by Gavrilita will provide technical expertise to improve the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of investment projects, including when submitting reports to the European Union. The State Chancellery also plans to develop the professional skills of civil servants involved in these projects. The partnership aims to improve the preparation and management of investment projects in key areas for the country’s development, such as infrastructure and transportation, energy, green and digital transition, agriculture and food industry, rural development, education, and employment, with a focus on youth and improving living standards. This expertise is expected to be used to strengthen the institutional mechanisms necessary to meet Moldova’s commitments. The Partnership for a New Economy Public Association was founded by the former Prime Minister in November 2023. The organization positions itself as an apolitical and non-profit entity, advocating for Moldova’s integration into the European Union and economic convergence with EU countries, the United States, and other democratic nations. Natalia Gavrilita served as Prime Minister from August 2021 to February 2023, during which time the government officially submitted an application for Moldova’s accession to the European Union.
