The Ministry of Defense is considering a new form of military training that lasts up to six weeks, which will complement the current system of reserve training for the Armed Forces. The ministry clarifies that the proposal is currently under analysis and is part of a review of the reserve training system. After completing this training, participants can obtain a military ID card without the need for a four-month military training course, according to ipn.md. Currently, the system includes three forms of training: compulsory military service, reduced-term service, and military department training. The new option will have a shorter duration and may be convenient for students, for example. Individuals who have not previously received military training and are over the age of 27 will also be able to participate in the initial training program. It is expected that participants will attend the military unit during the day and return home in the evening, without permanent residence. Women will also be able to participate voluntarily and will receive a military ID card.
