Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu stated that, despite poverty, migration and a stagnant economy, “the situation in Moldova is not that bleak”.
“The situation in Moldova is not bleak. I have seen all sorts of situations in my life – I have worked at the World Bank and other institutions. I have seen countries in far more difficult situations. I believe it is very important that, just as in a person’s life, there should be momentum. And our country’s momentum is positive. We are in the very process of convergence, of aligning with European standards,” said Alexandru Munteanu, as quoted by unimedia.info.
