The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has submitted to the Senate the nomination of Joseph Burkhalter from the state of Georgia for the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to the Republic of Moldova.
His name is included in the list of official nominations submitted to the Senate for approval.
The nomination must now be reviewed by the U.S. Senate, which must approve the appointment before the diplomat can officially begin his duties in Chisinau.
Currently, the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau is headed by Chargé d’Affaires Nick Pietrowicz after the completion of Ambassador Kent D. Logsdon’s term.
