Home / Politics / Grosu at PAS Congress: “Bold Solutions” on Tax Policy Lie Ahead
Re-elected PAS Chairman Igor Grosu stated that Parliament is expected to adopt a number of “bold measures” this summer, particularly in the areas of VAT policy and improving tax collection efficiency.
He stressed that these decisions must be clearly explained to citizens, emphasizing what he described as a simple principle of state finances: people work, pay taxes, and those revenues form the state budget, unimedia.info reports.
Grosu also noted that discussions on increasing budget revenues should not be limited to the Ministry of Finance, since decisions on tax and budget policy are ultimately made by Parliament.
In addition, he announced that amendments to tax policy will soon be debated and put to a vote, including issues related to VAT, VAT refund mechanisms, and measures aimed at improving tax collection.
According to him, the purpose of these measures is to secure the resources necessary to finance key public sectors, including education and foreign policy.
Igor Grosu was re-elected as chairman of PAS at the party congress held at the Palace of the Republic. He was the sole candidate for the position.
