Home / Politics / Perciun Following the Scandal at MoldATSA: We Will Have to Make Difficult but Necessary Decisions
The decisions may affect the Public Property Agency and other government bodies that were supposed to oversee the situation in state-owned enterprises, PAS Deputy Chairman Dan Perciun hinted.
“Trust is very hard to earn and very easy to lose. In the near future, we will have to take difficult but necessary decisions if we want to restore that trust, both as a government and as a party. It will be a difficult task, but not an impossible one.
We will rectify what needs to be rectified. Those responsible will be punished, and lessons will be learnt,” said Dan Perciun, according to jurnal.md.
He emphasized that a change of course is needed both within the party and in public administration, as similar vulnerabilities may exist in other areas.
Responding to a question about Radu Marian, who resigned as chair of the parliamentary committee following this scandal, Perciun noted that Marian is “one of the most honest and idealistic people” he knows.
“As chair of one of the largest and most complex parliamentary committees, he participated in and was actively involved in dozens of extremely complex issues. He did not shirk responsibility and made decisions even when he knew he was under attack. But due to excessive trust, mistakes were made, and he has now decided to take a step back,” added Dan Perciun.
PAS MP Radu Marian has announced his resignation as chair of the parliamentary committee on the economy, budget and finance, acknowledging that he made a mistake in recommending Dumitru Vangheli for the post of head of the state-owned enterprise MoldATSA.
MoldATSA is currently under investigation by the Public Property Agency regarding compliance with legislation on staff remuneration, following reports of high salaries and unjustified incentive payments.
