Sandu to New Government: Make EU Integration Your Top Priority

Moldovan President Maia Sandu has urged the country’s new government to make closer integration with the European Union its foremost priority, while stressing the need to complete reforms already underway. “The agenda is clear. We must continue aligning the Republic of Moldova with European standards. In the coming months, we will face important milestones on our path toward European integration, and I ask you to make this work your top priority,” Sandu said, as quoted by agora.md. “Yesterday in Parliament, I heard ambitious promises about accelerating economic growth, improving the business environment, managing state assets more efficiently, and making better use of European funds. We ask you to keep your word,” the president added. Sandu also called on ministers to pay particular attention to ensuring citizens’ security and safeguarding the state. The head of state stressed that the government should continue investing in education, culture, healthcare, social protection, and environmental policy.
