Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that a referendum on EU membership will be held after Armenia submits its application, receives an “appropriate response” and agrees on a “road map” for the process. “To hold a referendum, Armenia must submit an official application to join the EU. This is a process that requires extensive work. In the near future, we will begin this process, paying particular attention to the calls from our colleagues in the EAEU,” Pashinyan said during a parliamentary session, news.am reports. He did not provide a specific timeline for submitting the application. In December 2025, Armenia and the EU signed a Strategic Partnership Agenda.
