Mihai Popșoi to Attend the Crimea Platform Summit in New York

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi will attend the sixth Crimea Platform Summit in New York as part of a working visit to the US. The minister is part of the Moldovan delegation led by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan, which will take part in the high-level segment of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, reports logos-pres.md. Mihai Popșoi’s agenda in New York also includes participation in and speeches at a number of high-level meetings. These include a meeting of the Group of Friends on accountability for crimes committed in Ukraine, a meeting on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, and an event marking the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees. In addition, the minister will take part in the Summit for Partnership for Multilateralism, International Law, Peace and Prosperity. During his visit, Mihai Popșoi will hold meetings with the foreign ministers of Hungary, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Tunisia and Chile. He will also hold talks with UN senior officials, the Director-General of UNESCO, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participation in the high-level segment of the UN General Assembly provides an opportunity to advance Moldova’s national interests and priorities and strengthen cooperation with international partners.
