Socialist Party to Support Fiodor Gagauz in Gagauzia Bashkan Election

The Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) will support Fiodor Gagauz in the Gagauzia bashkan election scheduled for November 15, 2026. The decision was made by the party’s Political Executive Committee. Fiodor Gagauz is a native of the village of Gaidar in Gagauzia and is a lawyer by profession. Over the years, he held senior positions within the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including heading the Gagauzia Department of Internal Affairs, rupor.md reports. Gagauz also served as a member of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia. From 2014 to 2025, he was a member of the PSRM parliamentary faction. The party said Gagauz’s experience in public administration, law enforcement, the People’s Assembly and Parliament would allow him to represent the interests of Gagauzia’s residents, promote the region’s economic and social development, and strengthen the autonomy. The Gagauzia bashkan election will take place on November 15 alongside elections to the autonomy’s People’s Assembly. According to the Central Electoral Commission, as of September 18, the State Register of Voters listed 129,331 eligible voters in Gagauzia.
