Home / Security / Moldova Allows Ukrainian Border Guards to Conduct Checks on Its Territory
The arrangement concerns two road border crossing points: “Criva-Mamaliga” and “Mirnoe-Tabaki”.
Dilo reports that the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine announced the decision in response to an inquiry from Novosti.LIVE.
The Moldovan side has already given its official consent.
“On October 23, 2026, the Moldovan side sent a note expressing its consent to the organization of joint control on the territory of the Republic of Moldova at the Criva-Mamaliga and Mirnoe-Tabaki road border crossing points,” the Ukrainian Border Guard Service said.
Joint controls will be introduced once the necessary conditions have been established for Ukrainian inspection authorities to operate on Moldovan territory and the relevant interagency protocols have been signed.
The arrangement is intended to speed up border crossings and reduce risks to passengers and staff amid Russian strikes on Ukrainian border crossing points. Document requirements will remain unchanged.
The State Border Guard Service noted that the measure is part of ongoing efforts to improve border and customs controls, rather than merely a temporary response to Russian aggression.
