The authorities are also seeking systems to intercept Russian drones. Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatii said he would visit Bucharest in November, where he plans to sign an agreement allowing Moldova to participate in joint military procurement. The new vehicles are intended to replace some of the Soviet-made trucks currently in service with the National Army. “Next month, I will visit Romania, where I will meet with the new defense minister. We will also sign a military cooperation agreement with Romania. This is an agreement granting access to the SAFE program, under which we will conduct joint procurement of military vehicles manufactured by the Italian defense industry, together with the Romanian Army. The company in question is IDV (Italian Defense Vehicles),” Anatolie Nosatii said on Jurnal TV. The new trucks are intended to transport military personnel and be used during training exercises. The authorities have not yet disclosed how many vehicles they plan to purchase, how much the procurement will cost or when the equipment could be delivered to Moldova.
