On Tuesday in an interview with NTV Moldova the President noted that there would be the main struggle between the opposition Socialist Party of Moldova, supporting the head of state, and pro-European parties, Tass reports. “If the democrats understand that the right [pro-European] parties are strong, then the elections will take place on February 24 as they are planned. If not, everything is possible”, warned Dodon. If the elections will still take place, chances are that it will not be possible to form the ruling majority, the president believes. He said that the country’s largest Socialist Party would not form a coalition with pro-European parties. “There is no one to come to the negotiating table, we will not negotiate with the rightists. What can we discuss with them?Anti-Russian statements? We do not need this. There is strong possibility that we will have early parliamentary elections”, Dodon said. Today, the country’s parliament is controlled by the Democratic Party of Moldova. According to the latest polls, three political forces which exclude any cooperation with each other will enter the parliament. Source: Point
