U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that he was ready to consider lifting sanctions against Russia if Moscow took steps for cooperation with Washington on such issues as Syria and Ukraine. “I would consider it if they do something that would be good for us. But I wouldn’t consider it without that”, said Trump in an interview with Reuters. President noted that the U.S.A. and Russia have a lot of things in common to cooperate with. According to President Trump they are Syria and Ukraine. “We have a lot of things in common. We have a lot of things we can do good for each other. You have Syria. You have Ukraine. You have many other things”. Trump also said that he discussed these topics during the July meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “We had a very good, close to two-hour meeting. We had another good meeting with a lot of our representatives there. We talked about Israel, we talked about insecurity for Israel, we talked about Syria, we talked about Ukraine”, said the President and added that they mentioned Crimea and Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline construction. According to Trump, Putin did not bring up U.S. sanctions lifting during the talks. Source: Reuters
