Home / News / Romanian Senate Speaker: European Countries Underestimate the Risks of Russian Federation and U.S. Actions
European countries are focused mainly on solving their own problems to date and in fact ignore the common threats from the Russian Federation and the U.S, said Romanian Senate Speaker Calin Popescu Tariceanu during 28th Economic Forum in n Krynica-Zdrój, Poland. "First of all, we underestimate the risks that come from Russia’s actions. We see their actions in Ukraine, moreover, Russian projects like Nord Stream threaten the whole Europe and there lots of us who do not see it”, stated  Romanian Senate Speaker. According to him, the only possible EU risk response is to prepare a joint stance on such issues. Also he called out to take up a firm position on the U.S. and Iran conflict. "Yes, we may place in jeopardy the strategic cooperation between Europe and the United States, lasting since the Second World War. But we should also admit that the U.S. withdrawal from the agreement with Iran creates risks for Europe. And we must conduct a dialogue with the United States on this issue, having a joint stance”, added Calin Popescu Tariceanu. Source: eurointegration.com.ua
