Russian businessmen in recent months increasingly repatriate their assets from the U.S. and Europe, and exporters minimize the use of the dollar in favor of other currencies, reports Bloomberg. According to the media, this trend is observed after the tightening of American sanctions in April. Bloomberg says that Russian companies will have to cope with the crisis independently if new sanctions measures are taken by the U.S., since the Russian government may not have a full assistance program for them. Diamond-mining company Alrosa Alrosa is already selling gems to some Asian clients in rubles. He media notes that U.S. sanctions, paradoxically, can help Vladimir Putin his long-standing “dream” come true which is to repatriate Russian oligarchs’ assets. Source: svoboda.org
