Home / News / Krasnoselsky Sees No Reason to Meet with Dodon in December
Earlier, the President of the Republic of Moldova said in an interview with TASS that such a meeting would be held before the end of the year.
The head of Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselsky considered inappropriate the December meeting with his counterpart from the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon, noting that holding a meeting is justified only if the President of Moldova has a “topic and comprehensive agenda”.
He stated this at a meeting with the chief negotiator from Transnistria Vitaly Ignatiev.
“The issues of the “5 + 2”format are considered by the working groups and are not within the power of the Moldovan President, so, the discussion of these issues with him is inappropriate. The President of Moldova should have its own agenda, different from the “5 + 2” one. While there is none, I consider it inappropriate to hold a meeting”, said Krasnoselsky.
The Transnistrian leader considered it necessary to focus attention on the activities of negotiators and working groups of Transnistria and Moldova, as well as the convening of the next meeting in the “5 + 2” format.
“We must work with the people who are competent in solving existing problems, involving all international participants, the guarantors. I welcome the “5 + 2” format, we need to focus on it. If the President of the Republic of Moldova has a new agenda for the meeting, we will consider it. It’s too early to talk about the December meeting”, said the head of Transnistria.
