Home / News / Minsk has accused the Russian Ambassador of Destruction of Relationships within few Months
The accusations came in response to recent statement of the Russian Ambassador in the country Mikhail Babich. Babich commented the statement of Alexander Lukashenko during his address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus commented on the statements of Russian Ambassador Mikhail Babich, who objected to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on the cost of construction of the Belarusian NPP. External forces earlier have tried “to destroy the close and friendly relations between the two fraternal peoples”, said Anatoly Glaz, head of the Department of information and digital diplomacy of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry. The Belarusian Foreign Ministry stressed that external forces “failed to do this” during decades, but “Mr. Babich managed to do it successfully within just a few months”. According to the diplomat, Ambassador Babich “absolutely does not see any difference between the Russian Federal district, where, as we were told, he liked to ladle out moral arguments and an independent state”. Glaz stressed that in his message the Belarusian leader absolutely clearly expressed about the independence of Belarus. On Friday during Lukashenko annual address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly there was a discussion between the President and the MP Anne Kanopatskaya. The MP drew attention to the fact that Babich said that Moscow has reduced the price of construction of nuclear power plant. Lukashenko said that he never heared about it until now. “The Ambassador probably could not add up properly”, the President of Belarus said. According to him, the price was reduced not by Russia, and if Babich makes such statements, the Ambassador “shoots himself in the foot”. Lukashenko added that the cost of the project should not be disclosed, as it is a commercial secret. At the same time, he added that the cost of the project really decreased from $10 billion to $7 billion due to the actions of the Belarusian side due to the strictest control during construction. Babich said that Lukashenko was misled by using the opposition. He said that neither he nor other Russian officials voiced the final cost of the Belarusian NPP. “Unfortunately, the history does not give a lesson to our partners. We have to state that the Belarusian President was deceived again”, Babich said. In his opinion, the question of Anne Kanopatskaya could be orchestrated. RBC
