Moldova is not going to pay Russia for the gas it delivered to the Transnistrian region, Moldovan President Igor Dodon said. “The Transnistrian region's debt for gas is a very serious problem. We will never pay for this gas. Consumers from the right bank of the Dniester regularly pay for gas, and this is the debt of the left Bank. And we have to discuss this question”, Dodon stated in interview to television channel NTV-Moldova. He said that he discussed this issue with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, who paid his visit to Moldova and Transnistria. As Dodon said, “the problem of gas suppling should be discussed in a single package with paying much attention to it”. “"There are risks that since next year we will not have Russian gas. Everyone knows that the issue of stopping the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine is being discussed. We will try to resolve this issue through other sources, although it will not be easy. And Transnistria will no longer be able to receive Russian gas for free. And the situation in the region will change radically. This changes everything for Transnistria”, said the President of Moldova. Interfax.com.ua
