“We welcome peaceful resolution of the political crisis in Moldova. Among the most important challenges facing the new authorities – the solution of urgent problems in the field of democratization of domestic political processes and socio-economic development of the country,” – reads the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to the statement, the new government is now expected to take constructive steps to promote Russian-Moldovan cooperation. "Moscow is ready for this," the message concludes.
Earlier, the decision of the Democratic Party to give up power in favor of the new government under the leadership of Prime Minister Maia Sandu was welcomed in the U.S. State Department. The U.S. State Department is encouraged that both the new coalition and the former government have committed to a peaceful transfer of power reflecting the will of the people of Moldova, press statement reports.
We remind that on June 14, the Democratic Party said that invalid government of Pavel Filip resigned. In the afternoon of June 15, the Constitutional court of Moldova overturned all its decisions taken from June 7 to 9.
