The French leader told Volodymyr Zelensky he would discuss the Normandy Format with the president of the Russian Federation on August 19.
On August 19 French President Emmanuel Macron will discuss with Russian President Vladimir Putin the Normandy Format to bring peace to the eastern Donbass region, reads the statement of the Champs Elysees following a telephone conversation between Macron and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
“The President of the Republic assured of the complete mobilization of France to achieve concrete results in the short term within the framework of the Normandy Format. He said he would discuss it with the President of the Russian Federation on August 19,” the statement reads.
Macron also expressed his condolences to the families of the four dead Ukrainian servicemen “and expressed his solidarity with the Ukrainian people.”
On August 19 French President Emmanuel Macron is going to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin at Fort de Bregancon, which since 1968 has been the summer residence of the French Presidents.
