Putin and Macron Discussed the Situation in Ukraine

Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, the press service of the Russian leader reports. Situation in Ukraine was the main topic of talks. First of all, politicians positively assessed an exchange of prisoners in the 35-for-35 format between Russia and Ukraine. During their discussion concerning the prospects for solving the internal Ukrainian conflict, the Minsk Package of Measures was emphasized as the only alternative and the basis for a settlement. The Russian President pointed out the expediency of meticulous preparation of the agenda for the next Normandy Four summit. In this context, attention was drawn to the necessity for Kiev to implement the agreements reached at the previous summits in Paris and Berlin in 2015 and 2016. RIA Novosti
