The Republic of Moldova and Ukraine will sign agreements on the liberalization of car and air transport, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu at a press conference today, following a recent visit to Kyiv. “We have discussed some previous agreements regarding the liberalization of the road and air transport between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, which are to be ratified by the Ukrainian authorities. We discussed these things also at the Foreign Ministry, and in the Verkhovna Rada, because following these agreements the access of our fellow citizens to Ukraine and the access of Ukrainians to Moldova will be facilitated,” said Nicu Popescu. The head of MAEIE confirmed the joint decision between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine regarding the free movement of citizens of both countries using only identity cards. “We discussed the prospects of making such a decision that would facilitate the trips of residents of the Republic of Moldova to Ukraine, and Ukrainian citizens to the Republic of Moldova, said the minister.
