President: PSRM-ACUM MPs Must Continue Their Work Together

The head of the republic during press conference today said that it is vital that the MPs of the current parliamentary majority continue their work together and called to immediately propose a new prime minister, to choose the right candidate who could be nominated in the coming days, a-tv.md reports. “I will immediately approve the candidate proposed by the parliamentary majority of the PSRM-ACUM, of course, a candidate other than the dismissed prime minister, but the one who, as the leader of the alliance, can continue to provide political assistance for the implementation of reforms and the successful functioning of the ruling coalition,” said Dodon. At the same time, the president said that if the ACUM block MPs refuse the dialogue, their desire to push the country to early parliamentary elections in the extremely difficult period for Moldova will become obvious. “If the pride of some politicians turns out to be greater than the desire to maintain stability and avoid a crisis and early elections, then as a president I will commit myself and propose concrete steps to overcome this extremely difficult situation. Among other things, I will not offer the Prime Minister from political circles, but a professional with a government team of technocrats who can quickly begin efficient work,” said the President of Moldova.
