General Prosecutor Alexandr Stoianoglo said that he met twice with U.S. Ambassador Dereck Hogan last week to discuss extradition of Plahotniuc. “Mr. Ambassador said that if we provide evidence that Mr. Plahotniuc participated in illegal actions, if we move forward in investigating the theft of a billion, the U.S. are ready to consider research and extradition of Vlad Plahotniuc,” Stoianoglo said. We remind that at the end of November, the U.S. ambassador said that after the former PDM leader left Moldova, he did not communicate with him and did not know his whereabouts. “I personally do not know where Plahotniuc is. Maybe in Miami, but I don’t have confirmation of this information,” said Hogan. He also said that U.S. did not get any official request for extradition of the former PDM leader. “If there is one, a special procedure will be instituted, and the process will be completed in a short time,” Hogan concluded.
