Gas Transportation Tariffs Will Grow Eight Times as Much

An eight-fold increase in tariffs for natural gas transportation services provided by Moldovatransgaz will be introduced from January 1, 2020. This is due to the request for adjustment submitted to the National Energy Regulation Agency by the Moldovatransgaz administration which, in particular, is explained by a sharp reduction of gas volume that will pass through the territory of the Republic of Moldova in 2020, mold-street.com writes. Gas transit will drop to just one billion cubic meters. Thus, Gazprom practically renounces gas transit services through Moldova and de facto strikes against the company, although it is a majority shareholder of the latter. The data presented by Moldovatransgaz shows that gas transit will practically be stopped next year. The indicated volume is only 1.24 billion cubic meters, which is 14 times less than in 2018 and almost 16 times less compared to 2017.
