President Igor Dodon asked the Constitutional Court (CC) to urgently consider a draft law on the Higher Council of Magistracy, which was adopted in final reading on December, 20. The head of state asks the Constitutional Court to speak out if the majority of members of parliament is required to elect members of the Higher Council of Magistracy (SCM) from among teachers, writes noi.md with reference to unimedia.info. In addition, Dodon wants to ascertain the constitutionality of the election of the SCM chairman exclusively from members of the Council, as well as the mechanism for the election of judges as a member of the SCM with at least three years of experience, who, however, were not appointed as judges until they reached the age limit.
