In an interview to Free Europe Radio, President of Moldova Igor Dodon noted that he had received an official letter from Russia's Minister of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, who offers a definite plan. "They suggest starting with several steps. The first stage - to hold inspection, the second - to determine the required equipment, the third - to decide upon the process itself. This position is shared by our partners in the 5+2 format, who insist that discussions be held only with the OSCE participation," Dodon noted for europalibera.org According to him, the OSCE and other partners are ready to finance this process. "The OSCE is also ready to participate, they have repeatedly voiced this at official meetings with the country's president - that they have the necessary resources to finance the project, that they are ready to do it. But we are now at the stage of ascertaining the position of the parties. Our intentions, our plans in this sense remain unchanged. We must remove these ammunition from the territory of the Republic of Moldova as soon as possible,” the President of Moldova added. He also noted that he would like to meet with Transdniestrian leader Vadim Krasnoselsky in January-February to discuss the agenda for 2020.
