Moldovan President Igor Dodon hopes Prime Minister Ion Chicu will be able to establish a dialogue with the new head of the Russian government replacing Dmitry Medvedev. On Wednesday evening Medvedev stated the entire government resigning to President Vladimir Putin. The head of state asked the government to perform duties until the new Cabinet formation and offered Medvedev the position of Deputy Chairman of the Security Council to deal with defense and security issues, ria.ru reports. “The dialogue between the presidents is very good. At the parliamentary and government level, I’m sure we’ll managed to establish proper cooperation with the next prime minister and Ion Chicu (the head of the Moldovan cabinet - ed.) will have a constructive dialogue just as it used to with Dmitry Medvedev” Dodon said in a comment to Sputnik Moldova. He expressed confidence that the resignation of the Russian government will not affect the agreement reached earlier on the Moldova loan for infrastructure development, since "negotiations on the provision of this loan are already underway." Earlier, the President of Moldova said that Russia is ready to provide the republic with a loan of $ 500 million for infrastructure projects. At the same time, in 2020, the republic expects to receive $ 300 million. Relations between Moldova and Russia at the government level have been blocked for the past seven years, within this time there were no contacts and meetings at the intergovernmental level. The situation changed in November last year, when Ion Chicu became the Prime Minister of Moldova; he made his first visit as head of government to Moscow, where he met with Medvedev.
