According to Tymoshenko, "everyone uses Ukraine as they want." “We must admit that we lost the period of independence when we needed to live with our intellect, replacing all this with outside advice,” she said The leader of the Ukrainian party Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) Yulia Tymoshenko in an interview with ZIK told about the beginning of the so-called Ukraine liquidation process. “Now my job and task is to explain on concrete facts, figures, that the liquidation process has begun,” she explained. According to her, after Ukraine became independent, it immediately fell under the influence and became an object that "everyone uses as they want." She noted that today the authorities “must recognize that the period of independence of Ukraine has been lost, and their own intelligence, science, reason and national interests have been replaced by“outside advice. ” According to Tymoshenko, today Ukraine, not having a national leader, as well as its own strategy and policy, has become "just an object that other parties use in their interests." The leader of the Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) noted that she cannot be prime minister as long as Vladimir Zelensky is the president of the country. Tymoshenko also expressed confidence that Zelensky “totally and completely” transferred control of Ukraine to external financial groups and oligarchs. “I don’t want to be his psychotherapist, but I just want to convey the fact to people: today President Zelensky does not rule Ukraine,” she stressed, adding that the policy of the current authorities does not correspond to her development strategy. In November 2019, Tymoshenko announced that her Batkivshchyna party would go into opposition, since the bill to cancel the moratorium on the sale of agricultural land on October 1, 2020 goes over the red lines (the bill was approved by the Verkhovna Rada on its first reading). “We are moving into the opposition to the policy of country destroying, the policy that continues the era of poverty, the policy of auctioning off all the strategic property of the state, and especially the land,” Tymoshenko emphasized. She also noted that the faction appealed to the Constitutional Court with a request to explain whether the actions of the authorities are consistent with the Constitution. According to her she will do everything possible together with the people to prevent "during the war selling 72% of the territory of Ukraine".  Zelensky said in response that the head of the Batkivshchyna party (Fatherland) imitates concern for the people, calling her withdrawal into the opposition "a long-standing Ukrainian tradition."
