The year 2020 is an elective year in the Republic of Moldova, and the first battle will take place on March 15 in the Hincesti community district, where at least 5 candidates will run for deputy. Later in September, an election campaign for the presidential election will be launched. The Dignity and Truth Platform Party (DTPP) leader Andrei Nastase said that he is also preparing for the elections, but without Maia Sandu and without the ACUM bloc, tvrmoldova.md reports. Answering the question about who has the highest chances for the presidency and what chances of the ACUM political bloc are at the beginning of the election race, Nastase said that the ACUM bloc no longer exists and, moreover, it was created only for local and parliamentary elections. “The ACUM block was created mainly thanks to the DTPP and me. The name does not belong to us, it came from our colleagues, we agreed. We worked to ensure that the block existed and was not limited only to local and parliamentary elections; unfortunately, our approach was not supported by the PAS colleagues, they decided that we should split up. We respect their decision, we took note of the statements by Ms. Sandu that the ACUM block was created only for the elections and no longer exists, and now we are moving forward,” Andrei Nastase stated.
