Former leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova (DPM) Vlad Plahotniuc, who left the country after the change of power, is still in the United States.
Mayor of Balti Renato Usatii
stated this during live broadcast on Facebook.
According to him, Plahotniuc had 10 days to appeal the decision of the US Department of State to refuse visa extension for him and his family.
“Plahotniuc remains extremely calm, which is strange. I expected, as well many others, that he would hurry to Romania, because he has only two normal citizenships - Moldovan and Romanian,” Usatii said, adding that he had prepared several surprises for ex-DPM leader in the neighboring country.
“Sooner or later, he must be legally responsible for all his crimes. But he continues to be there and convince his entourage that everything is in order. Whether it is so or not, we will soon clarify the situation,” the mayor of Balti said.
