Moldova has fulfilled the conditions for receiving the next tranche of macro-financial assistance from the European Union. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of Moldova Serghei Pușcuța during the meeting with the European Union Ambassador to our country Peter Michalko, interlic.md reports According to the Ministry of Finance, during the discussions, they touched on many pressing issues on the bilateral agenda, such as the state budget for 2020, financial assistance from the European Union and new areas of cooperation. At the beginning of the meeting, Serghei Pușcuța thanked the European Union for all the support provided to our country, and reiterated the government priorities to continue reforms in key areas such as public finance and justice. The Deputy Prime Minister also announced that Moldova fulfilled the conditions to receive the next tranche of macro-financial assistance from the EU. In turn, Peter Michalko praised the efforts made by the Moldovan authorities to harmonize national and European legislation, noting that the EU will continue to support Moldova and provide the necessary support for our country development, implementation of reforms and ensuring a better life for citizens. In November 2019, it was reported that Moldova received the first tranche of macro-financial assistance from the European Union in the amount of 30 million euros, of which 20 million euros were provided as a soft loan, and 10 million euros as a grant. The total amount of macro-financial assistance for Moldova from the European Union is 100 million euros, of which 60 million euros are expected to be allocated in the form of soft loans, and 40 million euros - in the form of grants under the conditions agreed with the EU, in three tranches.
