Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Aureliu Ciocoi met in Brussels with NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana. During the meeting, the priorities of the Moldova-NATO cooperation agenda were discussed, including the development of a new Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP), the introduction of a NATO assistance package to strengthen Moldova's defense and security capabilities and the implementation of projects under the Science for Peace and Security program ", cooperation in the fight against new security threats, as well as the promotion of activities in the field of diplomacy, reports Minister Aureliu Ciocoi thanked for the experience and assistance provided by this organization to the Republic of Moldova over the years and confirmed the interest of the Moldovan authorities in continuing the political dialogue and practical cooperation with the North Atlantic Alliance in areas of interest. In particular, the commitment of the Moldovan authorities to identifying priority areas of cooperation with NATO for 2020-2022 under the new Individual Partnership Action Plan was emphasized. For his part, Mircea Geoana reaffirmed the alliance’s support for partnership with the Republic of Moldova, expressing support for the organization of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova and respect for the status of neutrality of the country. A NATO spokesman praised Moldova's contribution to enhancing security in Europe by participating in the KFOR peacekeeping operation in the Kosovo region. The readiness of the alliance was also expressed to continue supporting the processes of reform and modernization in the Republic of Moldova based on the requests of the Moldovan authorities.
