Due to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus the EU ceases to accept refugees for an indefinite period. Germany has previously suspended refugees reception for humanitarian reasons. Due to the SARS-CoV-2 type coronavirus pandemic, the European Union has suspended the new refugees deployment from crisis regions. It is still unknown when the reception programs will resume, the European Commission announced on Thursday, March 19. The International Organization for Migration and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees already two days earlier announced a temporary suspension for refugees recieving. On March 18, Germany announced it was suspending the reception of refugees for humanitarian reasons. According to the Worldometer source that is tracking the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, since December 2019, more than 240 thousand cases of infection with the new coronavirus have been officially recorded in the world. The infection cost the lives of nearly 10 thousand patients.
