Ion Chicu believes that releasing money from state reserves can have serious consequences for Moldovan citizens, especially among vulnerable segments of the population. “We, the government, take this issue very seriously. Over the course of three weeks, we have been in close contact with representatives of business associations and are developing measures to support the economy. A week ago, we approved the first package out of 8 measures, we will also announce other measures aimed at providing assistance, on technical unemployment, etc. The government takes all measures and implements them to the necessary extent. The Republic of Moldova, if it floods the market with 7-8 billion lei, will have hyperinflation, which will negatively affect vulnerable segments of the population, therefore more than a million people will suffer from these measures. As a result, only a few will be able to enrich themselves. We are managing the economic situation, we will provide everyone equally, avoiding the situation when one gets nothing and the other gets too much,” the prime minister said at a press conference yesterday, as cited by unimedia.info. At the same time, Ion Chicu assured that the authorities will support business as well. According to the prime minister, by paying salaries and pensions to citizens, they will help representatives of the business environment, as they will keep consumers for them.
