Foreign Minister Oleg Tsulea praised the EU’s decision to provide Moldova with another 87 million euros to implement the immediate short- and medium-term measures necessary to overcome the coronavirus pandemic crisis.
On this occasion he said that the assistance " EU provided during this difficult time is aimed at supporting the country's efforts to counter the epidemiological crisis and its consequences,"

“We welcome the systematic and long-term approach, which includes both immediate measures for the healthcare system and support for vulnerable areas and social needs, and the comprehensive program for economic recovery,” the minister emphasized.
According to him, this assistance will supplement the funds of 140 million euros allocated by the European Union to the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries as part of the regional support program. Within its framework, the EU allocated 30 million euros through the WHO for health systems, about 11.3 million to support vulnerable groups and social needs that will be capitalized through civil society organizations and about 100 million euros to restore the economy, especially small and medium enterprises.
