Moldova will resume regular passenger and charter flights from June 30. Then the international railway and bus services will restart. This
decision made the Commission for Emergency Situations in Health on May 15.
Despite Prime Minister’s Ion Chicu previous statements that Moldova will resume flights on May 15 after the state of emergency lifting, yesterday it was decided to uphold the ban on all scheduled international flights until June 30.
As noted in the Commission on Emergencies in Health decision, regular international transport will be resumed gradually, depending on the epidemiological situation and other countries’ borders opening.
In addition, there still remains the ban on entry of foreign citizens into Moldova, which will be valid till June 30. However, there are exceptions: relatives of Moldovan citizens, foreigners with long-term visas or residence permits, foreigners who come to Moldova to work, confirmed by a working visa and representatives of diplomatic missions, international organizations and members of their families have the right entering Moldova.
At the same time, Moldova allowed transit for foreigners, including for repatriation.
Recall that on March 17, Moldova completely suspended air traffic with all countries due to the threat of coronavirus spread. During the state of emergency, only charter flights approved by the emergency commission were allowed to fly.
