The Party of Socialists (PSRM) and the Democratic Party (PDM) are ready to vote for the final reading of the draft on non-profit organizations (NGOs). According to a press release from the Democratic Party, such a decision was made on June 5 at a meeting of the ruling coalition, which was attended by the entire cabinet and President Igor Dodon. "The parliamentary majority will support the government in order to approve all the necessary projects in a timely manner. Thus, MPs from PSRM and PDM assured that they are ready to support the final reading of the draft law on NGOs with the necessary amendments in order to eliminate any risks of corruption and non-transparent financing," the press release of the Democratic Party said. In addition, PDM and PSRM agreed to annul the citizenship for investment bill. Recall, back under Pavel Filip's government, a working group under the Ministry of Justice developed a draft new law on non-profit organizations. In May 2018, the parliament of the last convocation adopted it in the first reading. It wasn't further promoted. Now the need for this law to be adopted is one of the conditions for providing the EU macro-financial assistance to Moldova. Earlier, President Igor Dodon argued that the purpose of the law on non-profit organizations is to establish control over the political situation in the country by non-governmental organizations financed from abroad.
