Sandu: Andrei Nastase’s Chances of Winning the Presidential Election Are Low

PAS leader Maia Sandu believes that DA Platform Chairman Andrei Nastase does not have a “very high” chance of winning the presidential election this fall. This was announced by the ex-prime minister on the air of Puterea a Patra on N4, reports agora.md. Maia Sandu emphasized that the PAS will support the candidate from the DA Platform if he goes forward to the second round. However, in the first round, the PAS will insist on its candidacy for president. “Judging by the polls, Andrei Nastase’s chances of winning this election are not very high. If he enjoyed wider support, we would support him,” the PAS leader said. The politician claims that internal polls conducted in 2016 also showed that she held a higher position in the preferences of voters, therefore Andrei Nastase refused the election race in her favor. “If the results of the polls were different, I would support Andrei Nastase. It was the only thing that mattered, and I have witnesses, everyone saw this poll,” Maia Sandu added.
