The Dignity and Truth Platform (DA) party is planning on July 14 to put forward a vote of no confidence in the government, but only if all the members of the Action and Solidarity party support it. This was said on July 13 by the DA vice-chairman Alexandru Slusari, noting that, as he knew, PAS will also discuss this issue today within the party. “The vote of no confidence text has been written. Until the end of the day, we expect the last proposals from PAS. We are considering the option of declaring a vote of no confidence only if 26 deputies sign it with PAS. In the evening, a meeting of the DA Politburo will take place, at which, I believe, we will decide to sign a vote tomorrow,” Slusari said. According to Slusari, DA really counts on the support of PAS, “although sometimes it seems to him that only DA stands for the resignation of the current government”. Slusari noted that, as far as he knows, PAS will also discuss this issue today within the party. “We will wait until tomorrow, but we must bear in mind that we have little time - no more than three weeks are left until the end of the spring-summer session. But it cannot be ruled out that they will try to complete the parliamentary session earlier,” Slusari said. Recall, on June 9, the DA faction passed a draft vote of no confidence to the Ion Chicu government to PAS. Moreover, the DA expressed its willingness to take responsibility for the leadership of the country by proposing at least three candidates for the post of prime minister. The PAS leadership has repeatedly stated that dismissing the government in a crisis would be an irresponsible step, all the more so because “there is no certainty there will be a new parliamentary majority to choose the best, pro-European government”.
