President Igor Dodon outlined three possible scenarios for the presidential election. He told about this on Friday in the program “Igor Dodon Answers” in social networks. During the election campaign, Dodon took a vacation at his own expense. Therefore, he transformed the traditional program “President Answers” into “Igor Dodon Answers”, infotag.md reports. He revealed three possible scenarios for the presidential elections: Dodon wins; another candidate wins; elections will not take place. The third scenario is due to the pandemic-related risk of postponing the elections. “Such risk exists. The parliament can make a decision. But I am against it. Because the elections can be postponed for three or four months. But the situation with the virus will not change during this time. Therefore, it is necessary to hold elections, observing all precautions,” Dodon said. He also noted that the elections may not take place due to low voter turnout. The President recalled that according to the law, elections are considered valid if at least one third of voters participated. “Taking into account the voter register adjustments, now there are almost 3.3 million in it. In order for the elections to take place, at least 1.1 million people must take part in them. I urge you to actively participate in the elections,” Dodon said. He suggested that if another candidate wins the elections, many socio-economic projects will be scaled down, relations with the Russian Federation will deteriorate. “In case of my victory in the elections, all projects will be continued, we will continue a balanced foreign policy, we will maintain relations with both Russia and the EU,” the president said. He assured that in case of victory he would not allow destabilization by forces that would lose the elections. “I will quote Lenin, who said that “Victory is worthless if it cannot be defended”. We will defend victory within the framework of law,” Dodon underscored.
