Ukraine intends to join the sanctions against Alexander Lukashenko after the final corresponding decision of the European Union, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Tuesday, October 13. “Our position as to Belarus has been consistent and clear from the first day of this crisis onset. We have joined the relevant statements of the European Union to act according to an agreed algorithm, that is, first the European Union adopts sanctions and then we consider the issue of joining them, " the minister said. According to him, the issue of interaction between Ukraine and the EU towards Belarus is an example of how the convergence of external policies of the EU and Ukraine provided for by the Association Agreement works. Recall, on October 2, the EU introduced sanctions against Belarus. Then, about 40 representatives of the republic's leadership were included in the list of restrictive measures, Lukashenko was not among them. The day before, the foreign ministers of the EU member states made a decision to impose sanctions against Lukashenko.
