The Cabinet of Ministers approved the signing of an Agreement between the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova on the gratuitous financial assistance provision to the government of Moldova in the amount of up to 275 million Russian rubles (about 3 million euros). The funds provided for by the bilateral agreement will be distributed among agricultural producers in the Republic of Moldova, affected by this year’s severe drought and the crisis caused by COVID-19. “I would like to thank the partners from the Russian Federation for accepting our request. We assure that this money will be used for its intended purpose by agricultural producers affected by natural disasters,” Prime Minister Chicu said. At the same time, the prime minister demanded that Minister Perju prepare a regulation for the financial resources distribution, so that the agrarians affected by natural disasters could receive compensation as provided for by law immediately after the agreement is signed. The Russian side must transfer the funds provided for in the agreement within 5 days from the date of signing the agreement.
